Focus on Photography is Level I of the 4-H Photography Curricula, written by university experts. Youth will focus on equipment basics, taking pictures, and the concept of lighting and flash.
Controlling the Image – Level II
Controlling the Image is Level 2 of the 4-H Photography Curriculum, written by university experts. Youth will explore depth of field, aperture and shutter speeds, hard and soft lighting, silhouettes, and flash techniques. Youth will also learn to evaluate composition using the rule of thirds, the golden triangle, and the golden rectangle. Additional topics include taking candid photos, adjusting shutter speeds, panning techniques, and taking close ups and panoramas. Grades K-8. 80 pages.
This project book is designed for youth to explore and complete under the guidance of a project helper. The helper can be a parent, relative, 4-H project leader, friend, or knowledgeable adult.
Mastering Photography – Level III
Mastering Photography is Level 3 of the 4-H Photography Curriculum, written by university experts. Youth will gain insight on the use of wide-angle and telephoto lenses, filters and special film, light meters, and shooting photos with different light sources.
